Coming from the mind of Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within had a lot to live up to, and though it might not be the critical darling that his previous works such as Resident Evil and Resident Evil 4 are, The Evil Within is absolutely an unmissable horror game. Its constantly mysterious story, its unflinching focus on resource and ammo management, its excellent emphasis on gore horror- all of these things come together to make for probably one of the most underrated horror games of all time.
