ALAN WAKE
Alan Wake isn’t exactly the scariest game out there, but it’s definitely one of the most unsettling. Its setting feels like something ripped straight out of Silent Hill, its world-building and storytelling – in true Remedy fashion – are second to none, and most importantly, thanks to its excellent shooting mechanics, it’s also an absolute blast to play. Alan Wake won’t scare you as much as some (if not most) of the other games in this list, but at that same time, it is also far better made than most of them.
