UNTIL DAWN
Built on the Decima Engine, Until Dawn was one of the earlier showcases of what the engine was capable of, but the game has a lot more going for it beyond that. Most notably, how effectively it builds up tension. Its method of scaring the players isn’t the most revolutionary, but the knowledge that your actions can have terrible consequences, and literally no one in the cast of characters is ever fully safe, both come together in an experience that is defined by a constant feeling of foreboding.
