Quake 2: Enhanced Edition
For many hardcore id Software fans, Quake 2 is right up there with Doom regarding influence and impact on the genre. As such, Quake 2: Enhanced Edition is the very best version of the game. Not only does it include Ground Zero and The Reckoning alongside Quake 2 64 (which may as well be a separate game), but there’s also a new campaign by MachineGames, Call of the Machine. But Nightdive Studios went even further, with an increased tick rate, muzzle flashes, improved enemy AI – including new attacks – enhanced visuals, and much more.
