A storm of controversy brewed followed the debut of the Resident Evil 5 game trailer at E3 2007. The Resident Evil 5 trailer featured Chris Redfield being chased by black zombies as he shoots them down. It was highly charged imagery that led to allegations of racial insensitivity. The second trailer for the game, released on May 31, 2008, revealed a more racially diverse group of enemies, as well as Sheva, an African BSAA agent.
