5. CryEngine
Crytek always makes some stunning tech demos and even their games look like tech demos so this isn't a surprise to see that it looks amazing. This was actually shown at GDC 2012 but the tech on offer is futuristic. One of the most impressive aspects of the engine is lighting and that can be seen in its full glory here. Tessellation is also shown and it really does make a lot of difference to a game. Crysis 3 was one of the first games that made me wonder that whether I was playing a game or watching a CG movie. CryEngine 4 or whatever it will be called for next generation consoles, should be one of the major engines to watch out on the PS4.
