DEUS EX: MANKIND DIVIDED
After a revival as successful and acclaimed as Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you’d have expected that the future of the Deus Ex franchise would be secure for some time to come. Its sequel, Mankind Divided, messed that up in more than a few ways, unfortunately. As excellent as it was in more ways than one, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s list of issues wasn’t brief, and one was particularly egregious. Its ending came out of nowhere and felt incredibly abrupt, like the story had suddenly ended when it actually felt like it was just getting into the grove past its halfway point and beginning to build up some real momentum. Mankind Divided’s less-than-stellar commercial performance meant that Deus Ex got iced- and now, we may never get to see what that abrupt ending was supposed to lead into.
