BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT

Batman: Arkham Knight’s release was mired in controversy- its PC version was an absolute mess, its emphasis on Batmobile sections that were deemed disappointing by many had drawn a lot of negative attention, while the absolute grind of getting every single Riddler trophy to unlock the true ending proved to be frustrating for many as well. On top of all that, one scene in the game in particular that was lambasted by the masses was the one where it’s revealed that the Arkham Knight is Jason Todd, who didn’t actually die. It’s not controversial because it’s a big swing- no, quite the opposite. To anyone with a perfunctory knowledge of Batman lore, it’s painfully obvious that the Arkham Knight couldn’t be anyone but Jason Todd, and the fact that the game still chooses to play it up like a big mystery and tries to pretend like that eventual reveal is some huge shock- yeah, that’s more than a little annoying.
