Square Enix Registers Trademark for Murder/Soul Suspect

Signs point to a supernatural murder mystery for browsers.

Square Enix
Square Enix is an odd company these days. In between making Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII look like a watered down Assassin’s Creed, concentrating more on social games like the recently announced Star Galaxy and just failing to see that no one will ever care about Final Fantasy XIV ever, they’re registering mysterious trademarks like Murder/ Soul Suspect.

Siliconera picked up on the trademark recently, and while the actually name is a bit up in the air (it might end up as either Murder: Soul Suspect, or Soul Suspect, or even what’s been listed), it points to a mystery style game. The rest is pretty much up in the air from there, but we’d gather that this is another browser-based/social game. After all, Square Enix did state not too long that they had a multitude of such games in production.

Maybe they’ll prove us wrong and do a DS adventure title like Hotel Dusk? One can only hope.
