Irrational Games have revealed that a lot of content was cut from BioShock Infinite, which is set to hit the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, next month.

According to Bill Gardner, user experience specialist, at the studio, said that they had originally planned a renaissance setting for the game, but the content that was created was eventually cut because of Assassin’s Creed 2. Does this mean the game could have been released in 2010?

Well that’s up to speculation.

“I will say that I was actually pushing for something more Renaissance, but within six month Assassin’s Creed 2 was announced and I was like ‘OK, well they beat us to the punch,” he told Polygon.

“We cut off enough things to make five or six full games. It is alarming. I mean, it pains you when you are talking about about cutting one of your babies but ultimately you got to to look at the final piece. A year later the audience is not going to care and eventually you don’t care.”
