God of War: Ascension Dev Diary – The Lure and The Snare

Meet the Empusa, 10 second before she murders you.

The enemies of the God of War series have always been an annoying bunch, some of the most vicious enemies being of the female gender. That hasn’t changed in the upcoming God of War: Ascension, developed by SCE Santa Monica, as the new dev diary takes a look at the Empusa.

Part praying mantis, part infernal being and all woman (zing!), the Empusa is a succubus that lures men and women in with its looks and dismantles them with its claws. We can’t decide which looks more frightening at this point. Check out the dev diary for yourself and decide.

God of War: Ascension will be arriving exclusively for the PS3 on March 12th 2013, and will cover Kratos’ tale before the main trilogy as he betrays his oath to Ares and seeks revenge. It will boast improved combat mechanics, gameplay enhancements and in a series-first, a mulitplayer mode for slaughtering your fellow man.
