Gero Blaster Could Be Heading to Nintendo 3DS

Cave Story creator's next may not just be limited to iOS.

Cave Story commands a large following and a great deal of respect for its developer Studio Pixel and Daisuke Amaya. So it makes sense that anything he would venture forth to create would be a big deal. Such as is the case with Gero Blaster, the story of a frog who chases after aliens when they kidnap his feline partner.

Announced at BitSummit, Gero Blaster is to be released for iOS, meaning that you can’t access the device without an iPhone or iPad (for now).

However, one Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis – that released Cave Story and Ikachan for WiiWare and 3DS in downloadable form – has recently tweeted a picture of Gero Blaster running on the Nintendo 3DS XL.

So it’s a strong possibility that we could also see it on the handheld soon. And other mobile platforms like Android and Windows Phone 8? That warrants a follow-up.

Until then, Gero Blaster releases in May for iOS.
