Major Nelson on Xbox One: “We Need to Do Better in Terms of Being Clear”

"No, really?" statement of the year?

When the Xbox One was first revealed, there was confusion. A lot of confusion. Then there was anger. Anger like you wouldn’t believe was possible to heap on to one single console. Along with a rubbishing of self-published indie games on Xbox Live, Microsoft revealed that the newest Kinect would have to be always on, and that used games couldn’t be accessed. Let’s not forget the whole “online at least once every 24 hours” shtick.

In terms of delivering a clear message, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb responded to a comment on Reddit that, “I am working on clearing some things up – there is no doubt we need to do better in terms of being clear.”

Given how it was indicated that one would need to pay a fee, equivalent to the cost of the game, to install a used game on one’s console – after the news that used games weren’t supported at all – we’re inclined to agree.

Microsoft currently plans to showcase nothing but games at their E3 press event, which takes place on June 10th, with a reported 15 exclusives in development, including 8 new IPs.
