It’s round two of our E3 previews, this time focusing on Microsoft (check out our preview of Sony here). The Xbox 360 creators arguably have more to gain than Sony having only announced their next gen system last month, but they need to keep interest high by further selling the idea to the sceptics at this year’s E3 conference.

With Sony as their only real competitors following Nintendo’s decision to not hold a conventional keynote, it’s bound to be a heated match up. That said, Microsoft will have plenty to talk about. Provided they don’t bring usher on again, here are the many announcements and details MS may wow us with in the coming days.

Xbox One Exclusives and New Franchises

Microsoft pushed the exclusive and new IPs at their Xbox One announcement in a move that arguably bested Sony’s reliance on older franchises for the PS4 conference. MS boldly claimed that they have eight new franchises in development for the Xbox One, alongside seven other exclusives that are part of already established games series. We’re hoping to see some gameplay and trailers for these new IPs and exclusives but, at the very least, formal announcements would suffice.

Xbox One Peripherals and Bundle Options

Though it might not be the most exciting element of a console, those extras in the box can be just as important as the system itself. Just think where Xbox Live would be if the 360 wasn’t bundled with a headset since launch. Seeing the newly designed headset would certainly be a great start, a road Microsoft would be wise to start travelling to get us more info on what we can expect to get bundled with our Xbox One on release day.

Smart Glass Details for Xbox One

Though there are a wealth of exciting new features that were unveiled for the Xbox One at Microsoft’s May event, Smart Glass functionality was only touched upon briefly. Considering how few apps were mentioned as supporting it, I think MS owes us some clarification on how it will work with Xbox One. A mention of what games support the second screen tech would also top it off.
