Bohemia Interactive has announced that it will be releasing the campaign for ARMA 3, currently in beta on Steam for PC, across three free DLC episodes with the first episode Survival available within a month of launch. This approach is being taken due to problems with parallel development and the desire to maintain a level of quality without skipping out on anything.

Players will still be able to access the lands of Altis and Stratis along with 12 singleplayer missions, 3 faction showcases, 9 multiplayer scenarios, 10 firing drills and much more along with the scenario editor and mod support.

Joris-Jan van ‘t Land, Project Lead on Arma 3 stated, “This was not a decision we made lightly. As game creators, we love developing and playing through campaigns so, to those awaiting ours, we say: sorry for the delay. After talking a lot about a focus on quality over the last year, it simply did not feel right to compromise now. Rather than pushing back the entire game, we launch this year with an awesome package – a splendid kick off for the Arma 3 experience.”

The two other episodes, Adapt and Win, will release in the coming months.
