Arkane looking to make Prey 2 "the spiritual successor to System Shock 2".

Prey 2
Internal e-mails, written by Arkane Studios co-creative director Raphael Colantonio, have indicated the dev’s Austin studio is currently developing Prey 2. In development at Human Head Studios before being delayed, the game is reportedly being rebooted.

“Austin has officially been green lit for its own project! This is super exciting of course. Doing a new IP was not a possibility because it’s adding risk to the challenge of growth, so after going back and forth with Todd [Howard], Harvey [Smith], Ricardo [Bare] we decided that Prey 2 presented an interesting opportunity if we could reboot it.”

Described as “the spiritual successor to System Shock 2”, it will certainly be interesting to see Arkane does with the game considering the original concept and how Dishonored was handled.

Interestingly, despite the rumour (which has been going around since May) about Arkane working on Prey 2, Bethesda and the developer both denied it. One of the e-mails discovered showed Colantonion advising his team members to avoid questions from the press because “the story is out”.
