If you pick up the PlayStation 4 in Europe, Sony will be offering you a free 14 day trial of PlayStation Plus according to an announcement made recently at the company’s Gamescom 2013 press conference. This will allow users to enjoy the instant game collection, DriveClub PS+ Edition and Resogun – not to mention free multiplayer.

Sony has also announced that it will be bringing Assassin’s Creed 3 to the PlayStation Plus service in September. Also, if you sign up for a year for PS Plus via the PlayStation Store, you’ll get an additional 90 days of membership. That means 3 extra months of PS Plus absolutely free to avail of any games you want.

We may be skeptical about a lot of things, but damn if that isn’t a sweet deal. Assassin’s Creed 3 though? Not so much.

Stay tuned for more announcements from Sony’s Gamescom 2013 presser including trailers for upcoming exclusives like Killzone: Shadow Fall and inFamous: Second Son.
