“As Gamers, More of Us Would Rather Get PS4 Than Xbox One Due to Games Line-up, Not RAM” – QubicGames

Both consoles hold a ton of potential though according to PR manager Mikael Bourget.

We recently had a chance to speak to Qubic Games Public Relations Manager Mikael Bourget. The indie studio has developed AirRace Speed which is available via the Nintendo eShop. We asked Bourget about which next gen feature excites them the most. Is it the PS4’s 8 GB GDDR5 RAM, the Xbox One’s Kinect or the Cloud computing functionality that both consoles feature?

Bourget stated that, “We can answer this question from two points of views: gamers or developers. As gamers I think that we’re interested in everything! However it might be true that more of us would rather get a PS4 than a Xbox One but I don’t think that it’s because of the bigger amount of RAM. That would rather be because of the difference in the games line-up.

“But like I said, these consoles aren’t even out yet and they have a big future ahead. We experienced that with the PS3 and the Xbox 360: they lived long and many details evolved over the years. As indie developers, we enjoy publishing games digitally. It costs less and is easier to manage. The better the cloud functionalities are, the better digital titles and content can become. So we are more than happy to see these next generation consoles feature more advanced Cloud computing possibilities.”

Both Sony and Microsoft have been pushing for Cloud computing on their consoles, with the former offering PS3 games to be streamed over Gaikai while the latter will use it to improve performance over time. Which one will benefit in the long run? Stay tuned as we get closer to launch.
