The Xbox 360 version of DICE’s Battlefield 4, released recently in North America, has been facing issues due to the mandatory install required for the game along with an optional 5.8 GB install for the single-player and an optional multiplayer install which requires 6.6 GB. EA Support has tried to address some major issues that have been occurring, and clarified that you won’t be able to install the game data on a flash drive.

According to the support team, data “can only be installed on Xbox 360 hard disk drives, and cannot be installed to USB drives, or other alternative storage devices. Battlefield 4 cannot be installed and played on a 4GB internal flash drive. You will have the option to accept the 2GB install or quit. Quitting will return you to the Xbox dashboard, and you will not be able to play Battlefield 4.

“If you do try to install the optional disc-content before the required game data installation, your install will stop before completion, and ask you to install again. If your install does fail due to installing content in the incorrect order, your second or subsequent attempts at installing the required content should complete successfully.”

No doubt other issues will crop up, such as this infinite loading screen for the Xbox 360 version which has been addressed in the new multiplayer update. But this can’t be good news for those with small hard drives looking to install all the optional content. What are your thoughts on the same? Let us know below. And before you ask: no, this won’t be an issue when the PS4 and Xbox One versions release on November 15th/29th in North America/Europe and November 22nd respectively.
