Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain turned its fair share of heads when it first debuted and the hype has only become greater since E3. While the graphics right now are looking good, director Hideo Kojima stated on Twitter that their goal is “photo-realistic graphics quality”. However, speaking on the latest batch of screenshots released for the game, Kojima is worried that said photo-realism is ruined once Snake enters into the frame.

Nonetheless, Metal Gear Solid 5 is looking extremely good with detailed textures, excellent draw distance and as mentioned, highly realistic environments. There are concerns for the current-gen versions of the game, particularly when it comes to animation, but the game is a long ways off yet.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. Meanwhile, what are your thoughts on the game’s current visual quality?
