We know about the install sizes for the Xbox One’s launch titles, which you can view here, but ever wondered how much time it would take for you to download each title?
We decided to do a rough calculation for the same using Numion. For instance, with a 10 Mbps connection, Battlefield 4’s 33 GB will take roughly 7 hours and 20 minutes to download. Call of Duty: Ghosts’ 39 GB will take roughly 8 hours and 40 minutes on the same connection. Of course, if you’re lucky enough to have a 1 Gbps connection, you can have your game ready in a matter of minutes. We wonder how many people are lucky enough.
Looking at these file sizes and the bandwidth which Microsoft takes into account when offering them for download, it will certainly be interesting to see how streaming Xbox 360 games over the Cloud works. Some titles are no more than 14 GB or so in size. Will today’s connections serve as enough of an impetus to offer game streaming? We’ll have to wait and find out but as it is, Microsoft’s Albert Penello has already stated concerns about bandwidth for streaming games online.
The Xbox One is slated to release on November 22nd across 13 territories worldwide.
