The video above gives us a good look at what we can expect to see from the Ryse Son Of Rome SmartGlass companion app which is accessible through the Xbox One. The SmartGlass app is available on multiple platforms including console, PC and mobile.

According to this video, gamers will be able to access the Ryse community by viewing how many times your friends have played the game, what achievements they’ve unlocked, and what game play instances they’ve recorded. Additionally SmartGlass users will be able to read user generated articles, as well as the Ryse Son of Rome comic.

Ryse Son Of Rome was released at the same time as the Xbox One in accordance with the console’s launch campaign.

With SmartGlass Microsoft is attempting to usher in a new era of interactive gaming that transcends the controller based medium. Will you buy into it?
