As if one class-action lawsuit wasn’t enough for DICE’s Battlefield 4, law firm Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP have filed a lawsuit against publisher EA for claims made about the game made between July 24th and December 4th 2013 during which the firm alleged that EA gave, “Materially false and misleading statements highlighting the purported strength of the Company’s rollout of version 4 of its all-important Battlefield video game series” in violation the Securities Exchange Act.

It also alleged that those very claims help inflate EA stock, and allowed “certain of Electronic Arts’ senior executives to sell their Electronic Arts stock at artificially inflated prices.” As of now, the game’s overall quality and stability is under scrutiny, especially on the PS4. The firm stated that “multiple glitches and significant crashes” and “bugs, connectivity issues, server limitations, and various other problems plaguing Battlefield 4” plague the PS4 version.

EA also failed to acknowledge that the game was “riddled with bugs and multiple other problems, including downloadable content that allowed players access to more levels of the game, a myriad of connectivity issues, server limitations, lost data and repeated sudden crashes, among other things.” The fact that the publisher has halted production of any future DLC and projects such as Star Wars: Battlefront to focus on fixing Battlefield 4 is just another indicator that they underestimated the problem from the outset.
