Yakuza: Ishin New Video Details ‘Growth and Weapon Forging’

Grid development and workbench-based forging

Posted By | On 02nd, Jan. 2014

Yakuza: Ishin has received a new video which focuses on two specific elements of the game: Growth and Weapons Forging. While the video itself is mostly in Japanese, anyone watching will still be able to get a feel for what to expect based on the in game footage shown.

In terms of growth it appears that there will be a growth grid, similar to the sphere grid used in Final Fantasy X, that your character will progress along. There also seem to be multiple paths that the character can take, implying a level of customizability that the player will be able to control.

As far as weapons forging goes, there looks to be a workbench of sorts where the player will direct the character over to in order to initialize the forging process. From there a menu appears from which the player selects various items to incorporate into the specific weapon they are forging, with different combinations yielding weapons of different types and abilities.

All in all pretty standard fare.
