No Man’s Sky Still On Track After Hello Games Suffers Flood Damage

Studio head Sean Murray also shoots down the idea of doing a Kickstarter.

Why No Man's Sky

The end of 2014 wasn’t a completely positive affair for Hello Games. While the indie developer debuted its next big game, a procedurally generated rogue-like space sim called No Man’s Sky, it also suffered a massive loss when its office was affected by flooding due to torrential rain. Though it indicated that it had lost everything, studio head Sean Murray has revealed that the damage won’t delay the game’s release.

Posting an update on its official website, Murray also spoke about the possibility of doing a Kickstarter, stating that while it would “probably be a really” good idea, it’s not “the right thing for No Man’s Sky right now.”

That being said, the focus right now is to get all the team members working under one roof again. Currently, Hello Games is working from a temporary location after its original office was ruined on Christmas Eve heavy floods in the UK. What are your thoughts on the development of No Man’s Sky?
