The Order 1886 will be using 4XMSAA, the developers confirmed today. 4XMSAA is mostly used in high end PC games and is one of the anti-aliasing techniques used to eliminate those annoying jaggies. Following up to that confirmation, industry insider Ahsan Rasheed, also know as thuway on Neogaf has revealed that The Order 1886 will have the cleanest image quality till date.
“Ready At Dawn is targeting Image Quality above all else. Interesting. This might be the cleanest game to launch,” he tweeted. He also wondered why the developers did not implemented 2XMSAA which would have been a less expensive solution but nevertheless PlayStation 4’s power under the hood is the reason why Ready At Dawn are using 4XMSAA. “I wonder what the decision was to forgo high quality FXAA plus 2XMSAA. 4XMSAA is expensive, but the PS4 has the guts to spare,” he said.
As mentioned before 4XMSAA is mostly used in high end games and can bring the best of PCs down to its knees. “MSAA (Multisampling Antialiasing) X 4 is a very expensive and demanding feature that can bring powerhouse PCs to their knees,” says Rasheed.
