Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain May Feature The Boss

'V Has Come To.'

I think this was expected. The Boss might be a returning character in the upcoming open world stealth action game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It was kind of hinted at the GDC 2013 trailer [see above] when right in the end we hear the following: ‘V Has Come To’ which obviously sounds awfully familiar to The Boss’s voice.

But to spice things up, Lori Alan, the voice of the Boss was asked on Twitter whether she will be reprising her role in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. She simply replied with the following: “maaaaaaybe so?!?:-)))”

It’s important to note that she is neither denying or accepting that she will be in the game but the smiley is a giveaway. According to the Metal Gear Solid lore, The Boss was killed by her own apprentice Naked Snake who eventually becomes Big Boss. So even if she returns she won’t be a living character in The Phantom Pain but rather she will be shown in flashbacks or some crazy AI that we witnessed in Peace Walker.

Regardless this is rather interesting since Big Boss finally let go off  The Boss at the end of Peace Walker by removing his bandanna. Could it be possible that The Boss still haunts her and he still longs for her? Who knows but this is a definite possibility given how emotional Big Boss’s plot line is.

And by the way, Ground Zeroes, the prequel was a pretty solid entry into the series. You can read our full review here.
