Russian Developer Dinosaurum Games recently announced the development of PS4 exclusive Without Memory. The game will be released in 2016 and uses Unreal Engine 4. GamingBolt recently got in touch with Dinosaurum Games to talk about the game’s story, gameplay length, DualShock 4 functionality and more.
GamingBolt asked the studios’s founder Arkadiy Kulikov about the story of Without Memory and how it will be different from the usual amnesiac protagonist tales we’ve heard. “The story won’t only focus on girl’s [Anna] amnesia. There will be a lot of bright and memorable moments. A lot of things will depend on player’s choice, which is often done without enough information. Come what may, as in the real life,” states Arkadiy.
The game will also last for a good while according to Arkadiy. “It will take 7 to 8 hours to complete the game. It is designed to be played again and gain. The player could see the overall picture this way.”
The game will also use the DualShock 4’s touch pad functionality. “The variants of the response will appear on the screen when the question is asked and the player will chose one of them using touchpad,” he said.
The game will have semi-open world gameplay elements so this obviously raises the question on how will they merge with the interactive gameplay elements. “The in-game environment is close to the real world,” Arkadiy explains. “The player can interact with plenty of characters and objects, and he can listen to Anna’s thoughts in different situations. There will be some stealth in the game too. Anna will be able to act invisibly at certain points. And the course of events will depend on whether she been spotted or not.”
In related news, Without Memory will target 1080p/60fps and won’t release on the Xbox One. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
