Visceral Games revealed some new details about Battlefield: Hardline at EA’s Gamescom press conference. Along with revealing two new multiplayer modes, it also showcased some more of the single-player campaign as Nick Mendoza has to plan an escape of sorts across a barren land.

In multiplayer, there is the Hotwire mode, which plays like a typical cops vs. robbers game, and Rescue wherein 5 officers must rescue a group of hostages. The campaign is interesting because you’ll have absolute freedom in deciding how to proceed. If you want to take the stealthy route, you can – or you can just go out guns blazing and annihilate everyone. It’s definitely a step up from Battlefield 4’s horribly linear campaign.

And for those who criticized the game for not having enough “police” features, you can also tell your enemies to Freeze, after which you arrest or kill them. Battlefield: Hardline will be out in early 2015 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.
