Rainbow Six: Siege Dev Diary Discusses Cover and Lean Mechanics

Less input lag and a more free form lean system is discussed.

Ubisoft Montreal hasn’t had the brightest year with bugs dogging flagship titles like Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Far Cry 4 at launch. Unity was actually in a semi-unplayable state when it first released due to frame rate and stability issues along with animation bugs. That being said, Rainbow Six: Siege is still worth looking forward to if only because it’s been in development long enough.

A new dev diary in the Behind The Wall series takes a look at the different mechanics in the game along with the philosophy behind some of the decisions. The emphasis is on providing players with more control rather than a lean system depending on contextual situations. This means you’ll be able to change stances regardless of where you stand. Less input lag will also become important for players.

Rainbow Six: Siege releases some time in PS4, Xbox One and PC so stay tuned for more details.
