Yesterday, the NPD Group released its numbers for the month of November for the video game market, and to no one’s surprise (given all the crazy deals, bundling, and marketing that Microsoft was doing all month), the Xbox One came out on top, followed by the PlayStation 4, and finally, Nintendo’s Wii U. If you were, however, wondering about the exact numbers each console posted, we have them here for you.

The Xbox One reportedly sold 1.2 million units in North America for this month, while the PlayStation 4 posted 800,000 units roughly. The Wii U is estimated to have sold around 240,000 units in North America for the entire month, a shockingly small amount, but still a 10% increase over last year’s numbers for the month in the region.

Those numbers might seem a little disappointing overall, and that’s because they are- they represent a shocking contraction from the sales peak that the video game industry achieved for November in North America a few years ago, and they are a decline and downturn that needs to be countered swiftly.

It is early days in this generation, but the three console manufacturers cannot waste any more time.
