Ubisoft had apparently taken your concerns on board when they set out to release their newest patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity. Evidently, they made a giant patch that wasn’t tested to any great degree because whilst it does fix some of the games less prominent bugs, it completely tanks Nvidia SLI compatibility for the game. It also introduces horrific amounts of flickering. Isn’t that nice?
Assassin’s Creed Unity has never been described as a stable game since it released, and for good reason. Ubisoft’s other recent releases like Far Cry 4 have either been somewhat stable or a mess since launch. Assassin’s Creed just seems bogged down in potentially years of legacy bugs and crippling over ambitiousness.
This is extremely disappointing as patches should fix stuff up, not blow them away. On a related note, the PS4 patch seems to have had a better results as it has improved the performance by a bit.
