As gaming budgets continue to escalate, more and more studios are closing down or merging and consolidating. But all’s not gloomy, as loads of smaller, indie game studios, backed by their own money, or by Kickstarter generated crowdfunding, are also springing up to take their place.

One of these is Big Bad Wolf, a new French studio made up of industry vets who have worked for companies such as Blizzard and Ubisoft before; unlike other new studios, they plan on going big, as they have announced that they are planning on being a new major studio for RPGs worldwide.

They have promised to make games closer to classic tabletop RPGs, or cRPGs, with a lot of emphasis on choice and emotion, and have confirmed that they are currently working on a brand new IP, a dark and mature RPG that they will unveil with time.

The game is currently in pre-production, and is targeting Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PCs. Stay tuned.
