The free update for Dark Souls 2, namely Scholar of the First Sin, has received a new trailer. “Forlorn Hope” can be viewed above and roughly describes what you’re in for when you pick up the upgrade (hint: Pain is part of the equation).

Scholar of the First Sin servers as a free update for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. When the Xbox One and PS4 editions of Dark Souls 2 release, they will already have the update ready to go. Of course, first time players can also pick up the newly updated Dark Souls with Scholar of the First Sin on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC as well.

The update will be releasing on February 5th for current owners of the game while the retail version for current and previous gen consoles will be out on April 3rd in Europe and April 7th in North America.
