Lucid Games’ Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions was one of the better niche titles of 2014 and built upon the series’ excellent shooter mechanics to deliver a new experience. If you’ve already completed the game and its various modes though, then the new Evolved update is on its way to add new content.

According to IGN, the update will add 40 new adventure stages complete with boss battles, grids and different gameplay types. Players will also have new abilities with the Sweeper and Detonator, and can even compete the new Hardcore mode. The new mode can of course be tracked worldwide thanks to the new hardcore leaderboards.

If that weren’t enough, level gating will be modified in the update allowing for smoother progress overall. The Evolved update will be available for free on March 31st for PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 players. It will also be included in the core release for those who pick it up at retail.
