New Splatoon Footage Shows Off Gameplay And Mechanics In Glorious 60FPS

What a breath of fresh air.

Nintendo’s upcoming third person shooter with a sense of style and quirky charm, Splatoon, is almost here (the game is scheduled to launch mid-May), and Nintendo is going all in with the marketing (particularly since Splatoon represents a rare new IP from them, and so they cannot fall back on brand cachet or nostalgia to promote the game as they usually do).

A new set of videos is now out for the game, showcasing its single player, multiplayer, basic gameplay mechanics, including traversal and territories, and all of this in glorious, beautiful 60 frames per second (the target frame rate that the game will also run at).

Just check all of it out. As with every Nintendo game, the game is so beautiful, colorful, and vibrant, and it promises to be a breath of fresh air in a genre traditionally dominated by samey brown and grey cover shooters, by bringing something new and exciting with it to the table, and something that the whole family can enjoy together at that.

Splatoon launches on Wii U in May. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more information and coverage.
