Amid strong critical acclaim, Team Ninja’s Nioh 3 has seemingly performed well since its release. Alinea Analytics estimates that the title sold through more than 700,000 copies in just four days on PS5 and PC, reportedly resulting in over $50 million gross revenue. Steam allegedly contributed the lion’s share of copies sold (56.1 percent) compared to PS5 (43.9 percent).
Interestingly, China constituted the largest number of players on both platforms at 48.7 percent. That number rises to nearly two-thirds of all players when Japan and Taiwan are included. A healthy chunk of Nioh 2 players showed up for the sequel with 66.6 percent on Steam and 69 percent on PlayStation.
However, over 80 percent players had previously delved into Elden Ring on Steam. Black Myth: Wukong fans were also out in force, with about 71.3 percent of Nioh 3 players having experienced Game Science’s action RPG on the platform.
In terms of overall sales, it’s a stronger start than Nioh 1’s one million-plus sales in two weeks. However, it’s trailing Nioh 2, which sold the same in just two days (and without a PC release). You have to wonder if the $70 price point had an impact, but these are only estimates. Koei Tecmo has yet to provide official sales figures.
