Halo The Master Chief Collection

343 Industries has announced that a tournament for Halo 2: Anniversary on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, organized by Microsoft and ESL for April 25th, was cancelled due to issues with party joining.

“We’re aware of and investigating party joinability issues. As a result, we’ll be canceling HCS Cup #1, and apologize for the inconvenience.”

The Halo Championship Series Cup 1 was to be held for a $3000 cash pool and scheduled to take place on Xbox Live as opposed to in person. The issue appears to have emerged recently following the latest update, which added ranks to the overall collection. Many players have reported facing party issues, including being split up during four person split-screen multiplayer.

Connection and matchmaking issues appear to be nipped in the bud thanks to the past few updates but Master Chief Collection is become infamous for its debilitating problems at launch. This recent snafu doesn’t help matters and it’ll be interesting to see how 343 Industries handles the current issues.
