Halo The Master Chief Collection

343 Industries has released a new Community Update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection and indicated that the newest playlist update for the game is available. Team Objective is now the featured playlist and will feature objective maps from all games in the collection. Even better, SWAT – a much requested playlist – is now permanent and won’t be going anywhere.

The developer has also added some new maps to different playlists including Burial Mounds to Halo 2, Longest to Team Slayer, Exile and Harvest CTF to Halo 4 and more. It’s also updated the Halo 3 map variants for Pit Stop, Epilogue, Boundless and Sand Tarp among other maps so you won’t have trouble finding them in matchmaking.

343 Industries has also outlined changes and improvements being made to its ranking system with the upcoming May update. Currently, only the selected playlists will be ranked for players:

  • Halo: CE
  • Halo 2 Classic
  • Halo 3
  • Halo 4
  • Team Hardcore

The bad news is that modes like SWAT, Big Team Battle, Rumble Pit and featured playlists will currently remain unranked, relying on skill matching instead. There’s no update on when ranks will make their way to other playlists but the goal is “as soon as possible after this content update”. As each playlist moves to ranked, Team Slayer will be moved to unranked by June most likely.
