Even before the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released, there has been an awful lot of talk about the graphics quality of the game. In particular, there has been quite a bit of chatter about how much better the PC version looked when compared to the PS4 or Xbox One versions. This is to be expected to some degree, but the difference level some have claimed exists has led to ongoing claims of downgrading.

One of the nice thing about the PC version of this game is that there are any number of different ways to tweak how the graphics look, depending on how players want Wild Hunt to look and just how well their computer can actually run The Witcher 3. The downside of such a robust set of features is that it isn’t always so easy to know how to tweak one thing or another. Luckily, there is now a new tool available called the Hunter’s Config which is geared towards making it that much easier to get in under the hood and make the graphics settings what each individual player would like.

Modder MelekTaus is the author of this particular tool and they’ve helpfully included instructions on just how to install it. The first step, of course is to download from here. In order to install it once you’ve downloaded you’ll need to follow these instructions:

“The ZIP included only one single file (W3HC-xxx.jar), just copy it into your Witcher 3-installation folder.
Starting first time: it will make a backup of your config files.
I added an 1-Click-Downloader for SweetFX (< 1 MB)
Some tooltips are not 100% accurate but I’ve done my best”

It should also be noted you’ll need to open the .jar file with Java Runtime and not with WinRAR. Check out some pics of the Hunter’s Config below then get to work shaping The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to your specifications.
