Call of Duty Black Ops 3

Treyarch communications manager Scott Lowe has confirmed on the Activision Blog that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will indeed be releasing on Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year. The ports will be handled by Beenox and Mercenary Technology with the promise that campaign, Zombies and multiplayer would all be available to previous gen players.

Though the first person shooter was confirmed for PS4, Xbox One and PC, there were doubts over whether it would truly make the jump to previous gen consoles. There will be some cutbacks though – for example, rather than four player campaign co-op, there will only be two player co-op.

Also, Lowe stated that, “There will also be some other features and functionality built specifically for the new generation of consoles that cannot be supported on Xbox 360 and PS3.” More information will be provided on the differences in the coming months. Sadly, it also seems that Black Ops 3 won’t be heading to the Wii U.

Lowe also noted that the multiplayer beta would be exclusive to PS4, Xbox One and PC with more details in the coming weeks. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is out on November 6th. What are your thoughts on its previous gen announcement? Let us know below.
