Halo 5: Guardians is Game Informer’s game of the month so it’s a safe bet we’ll start getting more info about the game fast and furiously. One of the features we got a real good look at in the unveiling was the character models for the game. The good news, coming out today is that the character models we did indeed get a look at are all in-engine. 343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor took to the popular NeoGaf forums in order to discuss the game a little bit and divulged that piece of information.

The developer also said that when the company does its full and official reveal at E3 next week, all of that reveal will also be in-engine. While this is all very welcome news to to fans of the long-running series because it means that whatever peek they get at the game at E3 and in Game Informer is what they can expect to see when the game finally gets its long-awaited release. Unfortunately for those who love to play co-op in these types of games, O’Connor did also let a piece of bad news slip.

Because of the demands of the graphics for Halo 5: Guardians, the game won’t feature a split screen co-op. In the same thread, the developer acknowledged he knew this was going to be disappointing to some but explained it was indeed to keep to the 60fps goals of the game. “Anyway yes, it’s a bummer but 60fps had to take precedence. It’s not just aesthetics- the entire simulation is built on that framerate.”

Halo 5: Guardians is set to release for the Xbox One this fall though an official release date is not yet known.
