Mass Effect Andromeda

One of the many reasons that the Mass Effect series has become so popular is the deep group of interesting characters that appear in the games. According to the team at Bioware, Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to walk in these same shoes. While sitting down with Arstechnica, manager Aaryn Flynn and creative director Mac Walters talked specifically about the aim of the developers to make this another game that features a ton of different characters for players to bond with.

Walters said that the way they tell the story of Mass Effect: Andromeda will be much the same way the other games in the series rely on friendships in-game. “I think it’s fair to say that’s a hallmark of BioWare, and it’s a hallmark certainly of the Mass Effect franchise and something we’d never stray away from.” Walters added that the Bioware team went into this game knowing, “this was going to be a whole new set of characters and a new adventure, and all the great stories we were going to be able to tell because of that and what their journey is going to be like.”

Flynn added that the entire team is very excited about finally being able to talk about the game. He admitted it has been a number of years since Bioware started working on the title and they have had to kept quiet for years. That bodes well for fans of the series who are getting excited about this new chapter. Mass Effect: Andromeda is slated for launch on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC around the Holidays in 2016.
