Yakuza 5

Gio Corsio, of Sony’s Third Party production team recently sat down with the people who are working on the upcoming Yakuza 5 video game and the group answered a number of questions about the upcoming title. General director of the Yakuza series Toshihiro Nagoshi and Yakuza 5 producer Masayoshi Yokoyama sit down with Corsio in order to talk about the scope of the game, as well as the general direction the story is taking.

The group also takes a number of pre chosen user questions about how they expect the game to be like when it’s finally finished. This is the first video in what is expected to be a rather long series giving everyone the back story of this new game in the long running series. What we do know about the new game is that Yakuza 5 continues the story of Kazuma Kiryu alongside four other characters, as they go about their lives in the seedy underbelly of Japan’s Yakuza underworld through five major Japanese cities.

While this has been a very popular series in Japan and that side of the ocean, the company announced during E3 that this new installment of the game will be coming to the United States in the next few months. Rather than being releasing a full scale physical copy, Sega will be bringing this game as a digital download. While the video, attached below gives a lot of information, there is not, as of yet an official release date as to when Yakuza 5 will be hitting the PS4.
