Street Fighter 5

Those who plan to buy Street Fighter 5 will be pleased to know that the disc that they have in their possession will hold all the future DLC and future content updates. It seems that Capcom has learnt to put all their eggs in one basket and Street Fighter 5’s disc will house all future updates.

Director of brand marketing and eSports, Matt Dahlgren stated in an interview with Eventhubs that, “This is the only disc you’re ever going to need to own to get all of the content in the game, but we’ll be revealing details of how our post-launch content happens at a later date, but it will be good news.”

He went on to explain the game’s roster. “We want to start off with a core roster which will be inviting to new players. When you start off with a gigantic roster right off the bat, it can be pretty daunting for new players to figure out where to start. Very soon in the future, you will see brand new characters for the franchise.”

On asked about how Capcom plans to handle the story campaign mode, seeing that Mortal Kombat X was successful, he stated, “We are paying attention to how everybody handles story related content, and we will be doing things differently this time around for Street Fighter 5, but we’ll be sharing details on that at a later date.”

Street Fighter 5 releases on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016. A PS4-exclusive online beta launches on July 23.
