Nintendo’s latest earnings report has revealed that the Wii U’s sales are now over 10 million units. Sales for the console in the quarter spanning from April to June 2015 came to 470,000 units putting the lifetime total sales of the console at 10.1 million.

It’s also been reported that the console’s sales were highest in America with 4.8 millions sold till now followed by 2.6 million units in other territories and 2.4 million units sold in Japan. Sadly, sales were down year on year for this quarter – the console sold 500,000 units in 2014 for the same quarter.

Nintendo is still being optimistic though. It predicts 3.4 million units for April 2015 to March 2016 to hit 3.4 million units. It’s a pretty lofty goal at this point but with games like Super Mario Maker, Yoshi’s Wooly World and Xenoblade Chronicles X set to hit different territories worldwide, it could very well happen. Stay tuned for more information on sales in the coming months.
