Destiny The Taken King Prologue Cinematic Sets the Stage for Oryx Battle

The Taken King is coming to take...you!

Destiny The Taken King

Ever wonder exactly why a angry space enemy is coming after you in Bungie’s Destiny expansion The Taken King? There are a multitude of reasons why actually (aside from needing an honest to goodness raid boss this time around) but this new prologue cinematic handily explains why Orx, Crota’s father is after you. It has to do with Guardians killing Crota, long story short.

It will be especially interesting to see how this “Taken War” pans out since Oryx’s fleet has been seen in battles involving the Awoken’s fleet. Why the Awoken are involved is still not determined yet but for once, Bungie is actually looking to convey the feeling of full-scale war within Destiny.

Destiny: The Taken King is out on September 15th for Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360. If you pre-order it, you’ll receive the SUROS Arsenal Pack early for free (this will also be available to general players on January 1st 2016). Stay tuned for more details on the expansion in the coming weeks.
