Could The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 Be Set In Summerset Isles?

There have been hints of the setting, but never anything concrete.

The Elder Scrolls Online

While we know Bethesda isn’t planning to come up with a new Elder Scrolls or Skyrim anytime soon, that doesn’t mean the game won’t be coming eventually. The real question, is where this new game might be set. Fans of the game have been paying rather close attention to the patterns the company has come up with and there have been some pretty good clues that lead us to believe that the next game could very well be set in the Summerset Isles.

One of the biggest clues that Summerset will be the setting for the next game, is the copious amounts of references to Thalmor in Skyrim. Examining the political goings on of the Dominion is something that would make a pretty interesting game, whether you’re talking about them losing their control or tightening their grip and spawning the beginning of a revolution because of it. The other reason Summerset would at least be a good spot to stage a game, even if its not planned just yet is because it would be a non-human setting.

The last two games have been set in villages and towns that look predominantly like places players have seen before, if only in the history books. By setting the stage in the Summerset Isles, that stage would be otherworldly enough that it could capture the imagination of the players. When talking about this other world, there’s also something to be said for the tech current generation consoles have to offer. The world that could be laid out to make up Summerset Isles would be quite impressive. If for no other reason, Bethesda should and might set the next Skyrim or Elder Scrolls there just to show it can.
