Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Naughty Dog has been talking a lot about its future in the gaming industry in the last few days and weeks. The company behind much loved one-offs like The Last of Us and much celebrated series like Uncharted says it probably has about “one or two more” current generation games left in its hopper. Considering how many games other studios are cranking out for both the Xbox One and the PS4, this is a bit of a surprise, until you take into account that Naughty Dog is a smaller studio.

Finder.com recently talked to Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer and he didn’t actually seem so sure the studio would be able to get another game into this generation after it releases the final chapter in that Uncharted series with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Meyer was specifically asked whether the company’s next game would make it into this generation. “I would hope so. I would hope we would release a game pretty soon. Yeah, our development cycles aren’t too long so and I have no idea how long this console generation really is going to last, but, yeah, there’s no doubt it should be in this console generation for sure.” He said.

There has been talk that one of the last games in this generation will be The Last of Us 2. While the company hasn’t confirmed this game is actually coming, the rumors have been coming fast and furiously and the firm has stopped short of really denying it to be true. So if that is one of the last games for this generation, what do you think Naughty Dog might have up its sleeve for the other.
