Rocksteady Studios’ Batman: Arkham Knight will not be supporting dual-GPU configurations, like SLI and Crossfire, on PCs. Though the developer tried to find a solution for many months, it ultimately decided to drop plans for support.

A Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment rep stated on the Steam forums that, “The result was that even the best case estimates for performance improvements turned out to be relatively small given the high risk of creating new issues for all players. As a result, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to stop work on further multi-GPU support. We are disappointed that this was not practical and apologize to those who have been waiting for this feature.”

Batman: Arkham Knight released on PC and current gen consoles in June and despite receiving critical acclaim on PS4 and Xbox One, it faced numerous issues on PC. These included crashes, low resolution textures, etc. which prompted the PC version’s removal from Steam and retail. It was ultimately re-released this past October though, even though some players still report issues. What are your thoughts on the lack of dual-GPU support? Let us know in the comments.
